Today is a “waiting for Fed-Ex” day, so I have to stick around here until a package arrives.  Which is a shame because I’m seriously in the mood to pack up this laptop and go sit at La Madeline’s or Panera for three hours.  You see, I don’t have to work at home.  I can work anywhere there’s WiFi.

At least for now, that is.  Next week may be a different story.

Speaking of stories, I didn’t get much writing done at all last night … at least not in terms of wordage.  I had to take a break and do some actual research.

And now for your enjoyment, another picture of a lizard…

Lizards are cool.

  1. Lizards are cool.  I used to catch them when I was a kid.  I’ll never forget the surprise when I first figured out they’ll leave their tails behind if you don’t catch ’em by the body (and the relief that they’d regrow it!) LOL.   Our maid (no, we weren’t rich, it was in South America and it was/is normal and inexpensive to have a maid) used to be scared TO DEATH of lizards… it was the most hilarious thing when we let one loose in the kitchen one time, and this portly woman leaped up to the countertop and stood there panicking until we caught it and took it back out.  (But she was good-hearted.  She’d catch flies for us to feed it.)
Hopefully Fed-Ex will arrive quickly and you can go out to Panera or La Madeleine like you’d like.

  2. Ah the Blue Bellies!  This pic is a very nice one indeed.  You’ll have to do a blog or re-do the blog about “Sub-Lizard”.  To this day, I think that was one of  the coolest things you did.

  3. RYC: Yeah, when I called my Dad and told him I dumped my ex I could hear him doing a happy dance over the phone, no matter how hard he tried to hide it.
Lizard is one of my nicknames (real name is Liza), and yes, lizards are cool. Especially me.

  4. I wish, with all my heart and soul, that I could work from home.  I don’t understand why they wouldn’t suggest it since I do 10x more work when I’m at home.  I just like the quiet and lack of interruption.  I’m in the zone while at home in my jammies.  I’m just pissed off and uncomfortable when I’m here in my dress up clothes.

  5. Hee-arr lee-zard, lee-zard
PS: Speaking of deliveries, you gonna be home tomorrow? Not, er, asking for any, er, particular reason, just, well, you know… Curious.

  6. Youuuu can do it!  At least you have a laptop, I have to write on my PC and in the computer lab at school, so I’m always emailing myself my story so that I can keep writing wherever I am.
    Good luck!

  7. I seriously have to go to Panera’s…everyone around me keeps mentioning it! So I guess you still have a job…this is good. Can I ask what you do for a living? I know NOTHING about lizards. I bet my girls would find them fascinating. Know of any good Lizard books?

  8. Actually, no. I thought of it myself. Has it something to do with another thing? Also, I do enjoy your photography. Photoshop is God of any photograph, and Photoshop CS is the Jesus, hehe.

  9. “Fed-Ex.” Isn’t it strange how the communication and paperwork bit of work eats up more time than work itself, in any area? I often feel that if you want to make time pass with nothing obvious achieved, pick up a pen and some paper, or its equivalent.

  10. I’m ridding myself of caffeine, that includes even soda 😦 .
Hey I had a pet iguana once, such a beautiful thing. It’s sad though cause it got sick and died. Anyways cool picture.
